THE LIVING WORDS OF CHRIST, THE PSALMS OF MY LIFE
GOD'S LIVING WORD FOR TODAY
Ephesians 6:10-17 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his
mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand
against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark
world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full
armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and
after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of
truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God.

PSALMS OF JOY CHAPTER 86
“The whole life of the good Christian is
a holy longing. What you desire ardently, as yet you do not see…by withholding
of the vision, God extends the longing, through longing he extends the soul, by
extending he makes room in it. Let us long because we are to be filled…that is
our life, to be exercised by longing. ”
~ St. Augustine
~ St. Augustine
1. Lord, I am a barren waste without You. Send the latter rain that I may rejoice in your mercies, that may sing with gladness of your joyous refreshing.
2. The brightness of your coming is my strength and salvation. You alone are the springs of life that bring Life to my life. Yes, that I might flourish and give of your overflowing grace.
3. There are songs in the desert. The rocky crags ring out with echos of ages past, "God's mercies endure forever." Even the depths of my soul cry out the same.
4. I see a cloud, the size of my hand, it shall become the joy of my deliverance, as your rushing waters replenish my soul. I shall bloom with the fragrance of your presence, an Oasis of your love.
5. Lord, yes, there is always longing in my soul for you. I am easily filled to overflowing of you. You well up in me, springs of "living water", my cup runs over.
6. How is it that I continue to long for you, when I am full? What did you mean when you said, "to drink of the water You give" I would never thirst again?
******
"My child; It is the longing that gives rise to the everlasting springs of Life. These springs are the praises of such longing. From glory to glory, from thirst to thirst, such longing shall only bring forth more longing, more praise, more refreshing, more longing.
It was such that called me apart into my Father's presence, into our "Oneness." It was the Alpha that sprang into the Omega.
Come and drink of the waters of Life that spring forth in longing unto praise. Partake of the fullness of ever increasing longing. As the desert longs for the latter rain."

PSALMS OF JOY CHAPTER 87
1. Lord; These are perilous times. Men's hearts failing them, for what is coming upon the earth. Truly we are reaping what we have sown.
2. The nations rage, storms in the heavens and the earth, storms in the hearts of men. Division, confusion, and fear. My own heart cries out for answers Lord.
3. The children of this earth are caught in a tsunami of evil that is sweeping the world. They are the innocent victims of the depths of sin that fill the minds, hearts and souls of a lost and wicked generation.
4. They have no ears to hear, no eyes to see. They have become reprobate. They worship the idols of men. They serve the gods of mammon, lust, and self serving. They have been taught well through a religion of compromise, false doctrine, and acts of abomination, not rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
5..Rebellion wreaks upon the tongues of men. Even before a Holy God, we have no shame.
6. Violence of every inconceivable kind fills the land, fills the earth.
No worth set on a human life. Murder and rage, insanity.
7. Yet there is Light brighter than the noon-time sun. It breaks in my heart and mind, my soul, my spirit rising in faith, in You my Lord.
Your Word endures forever. Your promises are Truth and Righteousness.
8. I confess the Blood of the Lamb that was shed. I confess You, most blessed, mighty and powerful God. The risen Christ who has purchased my salvation. Who has delivered me from the power of death and hell. Who fills my heart with hope and peace and joy in the midst of a dark and dying world.
9. I plead Your Blood upon my children, even my children's children. Lord that You might be glorified, high and lifted up. I pray for Your people, in every heart and nation, that their constant and abiding strength, will be hope when there seems to be none. That they will sing songs of praise, even as a sacrifice of praise, when their hearts are heavy laden.
10. Be our confidence in faith. Renew the joy of our salvation. Lord, I desire to manifest only your own loving and uncompromising presence in all I say and do.
11. Be merciful Lord. You are the only One who is full of Mercy and Grace. Draw us Lord, even to the throne of your Father's just and righteous judgement.
12. Hear my prayer dear Lord, for I am undone, my heart finds itself in a desolate place. I shall wait upon You my treasure, my hope, my salvation. I long to come again into your courts to worship in spirit and in truth.
13. Be praised my Lord. Be high and lifted up. Let all the hosts of heaven and earth fill the numberless galaxies with the praises of your people. You alone are God. I declare it....Let everything that has breath declare it. AMEN AND AMEN

Brian Doerksen: Resting place
Heaven is my throne
And earth is my footstool
Where is the house you will build for me?
Whom of you will hear the cry of my heart?
Where will my resting place be?
Here Oh Lord
Have I prepared for You a home
Long have I desired for You to dwell
Here Oh Lord
Have I prepared a resting place
Here Oh Lord I wait for You alone
PSALMS OF JOY CHAPTER 88
1. Lord, I can't even stand the sound of my own voice anymore.
The world is full of words. Most words are filled with self interest, pride, deception, manipulation, greed and hypocrisy. Other words instill fear, doubt, unbelief, shame, humiliation, and bondage.
2. Men and women of power, use their words to do all of the above to enslave others and seem to revel in it. The nations rage. Wars and rumors of wars.
3. Audible and inaudible sound waves of words bombarding our heads in ways we do not comprehend and leaving us exhausted in mind body and spirit.
4. Oh how blessed is Your silence Lord. Yet does it speak with reverberation in me. The Word of truth, the Word of Grace, Comfort and Peace. Your Word lifts me above the noisome pestilence and chaos all about me.
5. In quietness and confidence, Your Word to me is my strength, my faith, my hope and only salvation. My Rest.

PSALMS OF JOY CHAPTER 89
1. Lord God, You have given me your Spirit __not the spirit of the world __ Your Spirit which so lovingly reveals your gifts of grace and blessing. Those gifts that reveal your heart and mind toward your beloved.
2. The wisdom and scope of Your will and purpose are at times unattainable to me. I shrink in the contemplation of it. My spirit is brought to it's knees. The numberless hosts of heaven who have the joyous freedom of your glorious presence, yet You give generously of your Holy Spirit which strengthens my heart.
3. Be at home in me Lord. Holy Spirit fill me with songs of praise that my Lord might find joy and rest in my heart. Let the roots of faith grow deep in me as I come to trust and obey the Word with right use of my will. Let my will become Yours Lord.
4. Even as Your Word declares; " Help me to know and understand and truly feel, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high Your love really is....and help me Lord to experience that love more deeply, more genuinely and full of unadulterated thanksgiving than I ever have before.
5. There is no end to Your love, that I should ever see it, know it, or understand it. But I shall earnestly wait for the fulfilment of Your promise to be filled up with Yourself....You are my hope of glory.

PSALMS OF JOY CHAPTER 90
Lord, as I come before You this evening, the desire of my heart is to minister unto You. To come knowing that there are others who are ministering to You in Praise and Honor and Thanksgiving.
May Your people be one in spirit and in truth. Let the desire of Your own heart be fulfilled by the sound of our heartstrings and the harmony of each ones longing to be free of all that would bring discord.
Lord, I willfully lay aside every thought, motive, and intent that would turn aside my longing to rise up into the songs that only the heavens can hear. The songs that angels and saints made perfect sing as perpetually as one breathes in and out.
Let there be a silence of my flesh. Let there be surrender of the thoughts of need...of anything that flesh desires. Deliver me Lord from this great enemy of my soul.
